Una de las Orquestas de Salsa con Mayor trayectoria artística y destacandose en un gran numero de actuaciones a nivel nacional e internacional es sin duda la Octava Dimension.
Esta gran Orquesta fue fundada en 1974 por Santiago Mejia y Reynaldo "Aldo" Vargas, quienes con 8 músicos empezaron a destacarse en los grandes escenarios, deleitando con su música a miles de personas y convirtiendose en la orquesta activa mas antigua de la ciudad de Calí, Colombia y cuyo nombre se deriva precisamente de esos músicos, que por necesidades musicales hoy cuenta con 13 en total.
